As the GUL market undergoes rapid changes, two more GUL carriers have suspended their products – Symetra and Principal. I have attached an updated version of the GUL Marketplace that I put together for you and your team to navigate the current GUL market.
Although the GUL marketplace is shrinking rapidly, I still believe there is a huge market for it, for those consumers not comfortable with accepting some of the risk of the IUL plans and wanting full guarantees with no concern for cash value accumulation.
As you can see on the attached comparison grid, American National and Protective Life are the two big players right now. Great companies and great products.
